Riddles: A Popular form of Entertainment

Riddles have always been a popular form of entertainment, dating back to ancient times. They are puzzles that are designed to be challenging and tricky, often requiring the solver to think creatively and outside the box. Riddles can be found in many forms and are enjoyed by people of all ages. They are a great way to exercise the mind, improve problem-solving skills, and have fun.

One of the unique aspects of riddles is that they are often presented in the form of a question. They can be short and simple, or they can be long and complex, requiring the solver to carefully consider the problem at hand. Some riddles involve wordplay, while others require the solver to analyze pictures or symbols to find the answer. Regardless of the type of riddle, they all have one thing in common – they must be solved through critical thinking and logic.

One of the most famous riddles of all time is “What is always in front of you but can’t be seen?” The answer to this riddle is “the future.” This riddle demonstrates how riddles can be tricky and require careful consideration. Other famous riddles include “What starts with an E, ends with an E, but contains only one letter?” (envelope) and “What has a heart that doesn’t beat?” (artichoke). These riddles may seem simple, but they can still be challenging to solve.

In addition to being entertaining, riddles also have practical applications. They are often used in puzzle books and games, in schools as a way to teach critical thinking, and in interviews to assess a candidate’s problem-solving skills. They can also be a great way to bond with friends and family, as working together to solve a riddle can be a fun and rewarding experience.

Riddles have been around for thousands of years and will likely continue to be a popular form of entertainment for many more. They offer a unique way to exercise the mind and have fun at the same time. So the next time someone asks you to “give me a riddle,” don’t hesitate to share your favorite one. It’s a great way to challenge and entertain those around you.

Impact Of Movies On Youth

By Ogunbode Motunrayo

Movies have a significant impact on society, especially among young people, who are its target audience. The impact of movies on young people can be positive or negative, depending on the content and how it is received. With movies becoming the dominating source of entertainment, it is important to understand how they influence and shape young minds.

One of the benefits of movies is their power to inspire. Movies with powerful messages can inspire and motivate young people to pursue their passions and take action for positive change. Movies like ‘3 Idiots’ encourage the journey of self-discovery and provide a new perspective on life. Historical and biographical films teach kids about history, culture, and influential people, whereas documentaries raise awareness of important social and environmental issues.

However, movies that depict violence, drug addiction and bad behaviour can have a harmful impact on young people. Such movies normalise unfair behaviour in society, and the glorification of materialism and unrealistic portrayals of relationships can lead to false expectations. The impact of movies on life, fashion, and body image can result in low self-esteem and unhealthy comparisons.

The rise of digital platforms has made movies more accessible and prone to influence. That is why it is so important for young people to be informed about what they see, as well as to recognize and address the negative aspects of movies. Parents and educators should guide young children on how to consume media appropriately. Filmmakers must also ensure that their work does not have a negative impact on young viewers.

Simply said, movies have a significant impact on young people. It has both positive and negative components that must be acknowledged in order to ensure that cinema’s influence on young brains is beneficial rather than damaging.
