A Transforming Journey
There’s that one experience that make someone stand out as a movement of growth like it progressing shape me to a better version of myself.
Background
Growing up with Parents that value knowledge they always tell me it the key to success with passion and determination at that time I live under a bubble not knowing what I’m going to in the future as a child you don’t worry about education you just worry about your life Then it happened my first day of primary school it was overwhelming for me the work the assignments uniform everything was overwhelming for me when I went on that day I have a word with my mom She told me That’s how school is that’s one must work hard to gain knowledge she encourage me To hard at school and so I did everything I learn became my assets till I move to secondary school.
Challenge and Growth
Being in secondary school come with flaws of oneself starting with anxiety of public speaking, memorizing, handwriting and note writing off head These became my flaws and insecurities no matter how many times I improve myself my flaws are always there they make me feel in perfect they affects my performance in my education that my parent got involved They asked me what’s wrong I told them the issue I’m having I also told them that I can’t focus normally after that my father sound displeased saying am just being lazy that I’m not doing enough it break me that’s my father doesn’t believe my struggle But my mom on the other end she sit with me and try to understand my situation when I explain it to her she said she understand The next day She told me I need to do extra lessons saying it will help me overcome my issues and it helps because of it I was able to perform well school and with some help of other students I was able overcome my flaws although I still struggle with them till this day but with a support of others practicing learning and understanding things on my own it gets better that become one of my achievements
The Experience
After my secondary education, JAMB, WACE I was enjoying the freedom I have before moving to higher institution it took long time to find a school that can accept my scores in a higher institution during that I was asked what I want to do in the future as a career I was surprised by the question it never Cross my mind About what i want to do in the future at all it take troll on me because I don’t know what I was going for so I saw my drawings that I drew in the past and it came to me that I always wanted to do drawing and digital graphic design after some thinking I told my parents what I want to do they agree and set me to at a cyber cafe to gain skill and experience. It was hard at at first with some difficulty but still I managed to put it off through this skill learning process I gain insight and importance of graphic design with a help of my mentor I saw able to learn from my mistake I also improve my drawing by self-training that people wanted to do commission with me I was so happy that my development in my skill and experience impress people to do commission with me it was a wonderful experience for me. After two years of my training of graphic design I moved from home to a new institution call offa polytechnic everything feel fresh new and am ready to gain new experience thanks to offa polytechnic I learn more about not only about graphic design also about media social relation and consumer It helped think outside the box and see new perspective Letting me see a new version of myself in the future
Lesson Learned
This experiences taught me a lot on how to overcome struggles having supports of others challenged myself gaining deep understanding and how important it is to have skill as a step to success.
Conclusion
In conclusion, my experience over the years especially in offa polytechnic let me know I still have a long way to go but I gain valuable insight and perspective that have enabled me to better vision of myself. am looking forward to the future where I can still learn and grow and make positive impact around me.
